Biggie and Rob R. who finished 2nd and 3rd this season have won $100 buy-ins for a local tournament later this year.

Vermont Poker League would like to thank Jilly’s Sports Bar for hosting Season 1 and also extend a HUGE “Thank You!” to each and every player that came out to play.

Season 1 may be over, but Season 2 is right around the corner. We have lots of great things lined up including: a revised scoring system, more locations and the Tournament of Champions. Stay tuned!

Rob R. Goes Back to Back

For the second week in a row Rob R. took down first place. Loren came in second, adding to his streak of in-the-points finishes. Rob R. moves into 2nd place overall and has a very small chance of over taking Tom T. in the final week for the Grand Prize.

Rob R. Wins Week 5

Rob R. overcame Mike D. heads up to win week 5 and add 144 points to his total. The leaderboard stayed pretty much the same with Tom Terrien still on top, with Biggie in second. Gwenn moved past Mark Bergstrom to take 3rd place.

Just a reminder that in addition to the Foxwoods entry for first place, and entries into the Vermont State Poker Championship for the second and third place finishers for the overall league standings, if 35 or more people enter in either of the last two weeks, the winner of that week also wins an entry into the Vermont State Poker Championship.

Tom Terrien Wins Week 4

Tom Terrien outlasted Henry A. to win for the second time this season and add another 176 points to his league leading total.

Week 4

Also announced this week, along with the grand prize of the Foxwoods satellite, the second and third place finishers will receive entries into the Vermont State Poker Championship later this year.

Additional Prizes for Winter Season and Store is Open!

Along with the Foxwoods Grand Prize at the end of the season, players will also have the chance to win even more items each week. Any player that shows down a hand of Four of a Kind or Higher wins their choice of one of the following great books:

Ace on The River – Barry Greenstein (Won by Scott Flannery)

Play Poker Like the Pros – Phil Hellmuth

Amarillo Slim in a World Full of Fat People: The Memoirs of the Greatest Gambler Who Ever Lived

We will be adding more prizes in the later weeks of the Season.

Store!

The official Vermont Poker League store is now open. Right now we have an assortment of shirts, hats and mugs with more stuff to come in the next few weeks. And all proceeds from the store go directly into next season’s prize pool… World Series of Poker anyone?

Mark Bergstrom Wins Week 3

Mark Bergstrom over came Robert Casey, who started the final table with only 900 chips, heads up to win week 3 at Jilly’s. However, the big news coming out of this week was that Tom Terrien finished in 3rd and that was good enough to stay at the top of the leaderboard as we approach the half-way mark of the Winter season.
